Help us reach our goal

Trigger Empathy was founded by Ella Kushins, Natasha Halbfinger and Lara Jalal to bring women's voices from conflict zones onto college campuses. We started at The George Washington University, and we're working toward chapters at schools across the country.

Right now our constraint isn't interest — it's funding. We're raising $5,000 to finish becoming a registered nonprofit and to keep our events running through this academic year. We haven't reached that goal yet, and every contribution moves us closer.

Becoming a nonprofit

We've already signed on pro-bono with a representative from a law firm in D.C. The only thing holding up our 501(c)(3) filing is the cost of the paperwork itself.

Keeping the lights on

Our website domain, our email account, and the mailing address that every registered nonprofit is required to have.

The events themselves

Bringing speakers to campus, hosting the conversations, and growing into new chapters at schools beyond GWU.

Internships at Trigger Empathy

Trigger Empathy is seeking motivated, detail-oriented and driven undergraduate interns to support organizational growth, outreach, and chapter development initiatives.

From research to fundraising, interns will have the opportunity to make the most out of their experience. Each intern's responsibilities will be tailored to their interests and skill-sets. Think of this as a crash course in start-up nonprofit management!
